While our families and friends in Beirut are trying to gather the pieces of the catastrophic explosion that happened on August 4th, there has been a flood of international aid efforts pouring into humanitarian relief not-for-profits and individuals on the ground. Institutions and people are doing the necessary relief work to provide essentials to survive at this point, and to alleviate some of the immediate pain and damage the explosion has caused. The initiatives, attention and efforts have been immensely overwhelming and exceptional.

In thinking about Lebanon beyond the urgent relief work, and to ensure people get back on their feet in a sustainable manner; a group of us artists and cultural workers abroad have put together this collective fund to raise financial support for artists and art and cultural workers in Lebanon.
