Story

When I became the Bishop of Swindon in 2005, I had little idea of what the question posed to me in 2018 "what will Swindon do for you?" was to have upon me. Without going into details, what Swindon has done for me is opened my heart to the needs of the most disadvantaged in our communities.

With this in mind, I cycled, together with Chris Stanley, from Land's End to John O'Groats (from the Bottom to the Top of the country) over two weeks in July. We were looking to raise as much as we can for Swindon people who feel themselves to be at the bottom of society with little hope of things changing.

Little did we realise how much tougher things would get as the cost of living crisis unfolded. Our plan was to provide additional support just before the Christmas season. We now are looking to extend this into the winter months, and are therefore looking to you to make this possible.

Please make your donation above, on this JustGiving page.

P.S. If you are fortunate enough to be in a position to share some of your government rebate (winter fuel allowance or energy bill discount), those who would benefit from it will be hugely grateful.
