Story

Be a part of history with Chepstow’s Castle Dell Slide Project

The journey begins

Friends of the Dell Park Chepstow (FDPC) are on a quest to transform the Dell Park's play area into a captivating community space, enriched by our town’s history and inspired by the voices of our community.

Help us make history and contribute to the castle-themed slide which will be a key feature of the park for years to come!

Where history meets play

In collaboration with The Landmark Trust we have a vision for a playground where play and nature blend seamlessly, offering a nurturing environment for our children to play and socialise.

With generous donations from Chepstow Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council, and a hopeful lottery bid, our design promises a space for everyone, including:

• A bespoke wooden ship, for young seafarers

• Nest swing and toddler swings

• Accessible roundabout

• Play boulders

• Balance trail.

The park will be surrounded with gentle pathways meandering through wildflowers and restful seating.

The crown jewel: the castle slide

A castle-themed tower will sit atop the hill with an impressive slide down the Dell’s slope. The castle slide is our community's call to action, requiring an additional £70K to realise this fairytale feature.

How you can help

This is where your contribution can become part of Chepstow’s history. Your support will not just fund a slide but will foster community spirit, support our local town, and create a playful sanctuary for our children for generations to come.

We know the cost of living is affecting everyone, and so all donations are important from pennies to pounds. Whatever your contribution, you’ll be joining us on our quest to make our dream of a castle-themed slide a reality and a destination park that we can all be proud of.

If you are a local business or cause who wishes to contribute a significant amount please contact FDPC.

Thank you for your support...

Let's slide into history—together!

Amazing work- thank you for your perseverance. I know both my kids will get so much use out of this and I hope lots of people will think of a donation as a little investment and give what they can.
