Iʼve raised £1,000 to Help Friendship Across Borders fund essentials and friendship visits for refugee women locked in Derwentside Detention Centre.

Story
Many of the women held at Derwentside Immigration Removal Centre have already lived through horrific experiences such as torture and rape on their journey to safety, only to be locked in detention, their children taken from them, their phones removed! The majority (92% in 2019) eventually are freed to seek asylum. We aim to offer them friendship and practical support during their time in detention.
