Story
During half term, on Thursday 2nd June, 2 young people broke onto our site and completely destroyed our Big Red Bus, FRED.
FRED had been refurbished just 6 weeks ago into a bespoke DT classroom for our children. Our children really enjoyed using the bus during the first half of the summer term and made some great memories and learnt some great stuff. It is an awful shame that we cannot continue this at the moment.
We would love to be able to restore FRED to its former glory as well as making it even more safe and secure than it was before and we would appreciate any support you can offer.

7 days agoAt the time of the vandalism, the community came together to raise money, so I am writing to all of those that contributed to the fundraising efforts, as well as to current parents, to let you all know our plans. If you have any concerns, please do get in touch before the end of September via enquiry.stf@fioretti.co.uk Kind regards, Jess Mattocks Head Teacher 4/3

7 days agoTherefore, we would like to use the funds raised at the time of the vandalism to remove Fred and enhance our Forest school provision even further. The space we use for Forest School does already have an outdoor classroom and some raised beds, but we would like to restore these, clear the space and add a firepit, a log circle, den building equipment, a natural weaving station and other equipment to enhance Our Forest School sessions led by Wild Lives. 3/3

7 days agoMy predecessors looked to restore Fred through the insurance company, however, they quickly realised how difficult and impractical this was going to be due to the significant costs associated to replacing even the most basic things, like the windows, for example. Since then, we have thought of alternative ways that we could use Fred, but in recent months it has become clear that this is not going to be possible because the restoration required is so significant and having been exposed to the elements for some time, it would not be safe. 2/3
