I've raised £2000 to Cancer Research UK & Burscough Methodist Church Community Hall Rebuild

Hello everyone and welcome to “Turbo Timmings” fundraising page.
A few years ago I lost my wife, my best friend Beryl and to cut a long story short I ended up in a very dark place. However, with the help and love of my family and very special friends I have pulled myself together and have now decided that I want to do something to make Beryl, my family and friends proud of me. So here I am in my 78th year, not many years left in the tank now and I thought it's about time I got off my backside and did something worthwhile! So I am taking on the Trans Pennine Trail – Hornsea to Southport - on my motorbility scooter (strangely enough I will still be on my backside), a massive 215 miles, with the intention of raising money for two causes that were close to Beryl's heart.
The first is Cancer Research – I know that a lot of people have been affected in a variety of ways by this dreadful disease over many years and the sooner we can find cures or new treatments the better.
The second is for the redevelopment of Burscough Methodist Church Community Hall. This hall was built over 50 years ago and needs replacing. It serves the local community very well, hosting local clubs and societies, youth organisations and even parties for youngsters.
I intend to take on this challenge from 11th -17th July so thank you for taking the time to read this article and I hope you are in a position to donate something – no matter how small, it all helps.
