Story
“When harnessed properly, psychedelics have the power to unlock human consciousness, treat patients most at need, ignite creativity and open the doors to a more compassionate and connected world. Their potential transformative impact on humanity is immense and this FOUNDATION will play a vital role in achieving these.” - Professor David Nutt, Imperial College London and Drug Science
Help us fund pioneering psychedelic research and redress the growing mental health crisis
The therapeutic application of psychedelics represents one of the most significant potential health and well-being developments of the modern age, offering the hope of reducing suffering on an unprecedented scale and radically changing the landscape of human flourishing.
The Foundation for Visionary Science and Art has been established in collaboration with Imperial College London's world-leading Psychedelic Research Centre and the charity Drug Science to help redress the global mental health crisis and other urgent health, social and environmental issues facing humanity.
Focusing primarily on funding pioneering psychedelic research at Imperial College London, the Foundation will be collaborating with some of the world's leading scientists and artists, working towards the urgent democratisation of psychedelic therapies, advocating for a more evidence-based approach to drug regulation and providing much-needed education to healthcare practitioners.
We would love for you to be a part of this mission to fundamentally change the world for the better.
“There is a huge unmet need for new treatments to improve outcomes in psychiatry. And it is increasingly clear that the potential for psychedelics to both help deepen our understanding of the mind and to transform mental health care is immense.” - Dr David Erritzoe, Imperial College London
How DONATIONS will be used:
80% will be used to support the pioneering psychedelic research at Imperial College London and other potential future research projects as selected by the FOUNDATION's Scientific Advisory Board.
10% will go to support Drug Science's research and advocacy work.
10% will be used to fund the ongoing activities of the FOUNDATION, which will work to secure sustainable funding streams to support ongoing psychedelic research and develop much-needed education tools/courses for healthcare practitioners, whilst cultivating a science-led art movement with a view to changing the social and political sentiment around psychedelics that is ultimately a barrier to research and therapeutic adoption.
Now that the psychedelic renaissance has reached the point of FDA review of data from successful Phase 3 studies of MDMA assisted system therapy for PTSD, it’s very timely for this new FOUNDATION to be created. It will combine Imperial’s high calibre neuroscience with important clinical research into multiple different mental health indications with education of health practitioners and of the public itself. We urgently need this vital work all over the world. - Rick Doblin PhD, Founder and President of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)
