Story
As the pandemic takes it’s hold across India, we are proud to know and to support two amazing people and their work.
Judeson heads up the Sehion Central Kitchen which started operating over twenty years ago. Since the pandemic, he has seen a massive increase in the demand for food parcels. They deliver more than a thousand servings of rice and vegetable curry every day to all those living on the roadside, isolated patients and those in need of food. Since the start of the pandemic over 400,000 packages have already been distributed so far. In the past week demand has hit record numbers and even more food is needed to reach those in the more rural areas who are unable to travel into the town to collect their parcels. Judeson only has limited funds for fuel for his large van and a more cost effective solution would be to purchase a second-hand rickshaw.
Sister Fabiola runs the Orphanage in Fort Kochi, a haven for those children who need love and security to be able to thrive. COVID 19 and the lockdown rules have restricted visitors and movement for both the Sisters and the children. They need extra fruit, vegetables, medicines and rice to be able to cope with the situation. They rely on donations dropped at their gates, but these have dwindled to only a few.
Just a few £’s would make a huge difference to both of these causes and we will be splitting any monies raised between them both.
Thank you very much.
