I've raised £300 to to raise money for a charity close to our families hearts, for a rare condition called ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura)

My Dad, Neil Thomson, has been affected by this disease since 2011. Being so rare affecting 1 in 100,000 each year, Dad was not fully diagnosed for a number of months. After numerous DRs appointments, countless blood samples, bone marrow samples, steroids, medication that I can't even pronounce & two splenectomies, Dad now has to take daily medication & inject himself in the stomach weekly in hope that his blood count rises. A healthy person usually has a platelet count of 150 to 400. You may have ITP if your number falls under this. At its worst Dads counts dropped to 2, he was admitted to hospital & immediately put on a drip. They now do monthly blood tests & Dads bloods are at a more healthier count.
I am running a 10K in glasgow on Sunday 1st October 2017 to help raise funds for the charity which helps to research this condition & hopefully help find the right treatment or cure for all who are affected by this illness. There is nothing worse than seeing a loved one not knowing what is affecting their health & how it affects them personally.
Any donations are welcome & greatly appreciated. We will be holding a few charity events to boost our funds. Prize Bingo, Quiz & a football event. There will also be forms in The Legion Scotland Castle Douglas for anyone wishing to donate to this cause.
Thank you for your support.
