Story

We are three students studying at Newcastle University who all play rugby for Medicals Rugby Club in Heaton, Newcastle. In December last year we received the devastating news that our good friend and teammate, Marcus Colville tragically took his own life.

His sudden death was a huge shock to us all at the club and for everyone that knew him. Hearing the shocking news that he had been suffering from depression was a surprise to all his friends and family. In light of this, Marcus’ family have set up a fund in his name to raise awareness and save the lives of more young men who are at risk from the currently biggest cause of death for young males in the UK.

The three of us had felt inspired to do our part in the fundraising effort and after learning at his funeral, that Marcus had completed this very cycle twice, we knew it would be an appropriate challenge.

We are determined to smash this target from the help of sponsorship as well as raising awareness and help identify young men who are suffering from mental health problems by getting people to be open and discuss mental health.

We thank you for your support and your donations, and remember its okay to not be okay.
