Story
There are thousands of refugee children all over the world living in desperate situations. Many of them have lived through the most horrific experiences. They have often had to leave family and their possessions behind and must be lonely and frightened. They find themselves in a strange country surrounded by unfamiliar people and cultures and are missing out on a childhood. Yet these children are incredibly strong and resilient and just need a chance to reclaim a little of what they have lost.
I am not pretending that providing these children with footballs is the answer to their problems but aid workers on the ground have told me what a difference it can make when these children are given a chance and means of connecting with those around them. Football speaks a universal language.
I have received support from several football manufacturers and I am delighted to say that Bala Sport has very generously just offered to supply the project with 1000 Fair Trade footballs at £5 each. I have organised shipment to several places in Europe and have promised a cash donation so that footballs can be bought for the Yezidi children in Iraq (who have suffered so terribly at the hands of ISIS).
PLEASE HELP ME REACH MY TARGET OF FUNDING 1000 FOOTBALLS.
All donations are gratefully received.
I NEED LOTS OF HELP WITH THIS ONE. If you have contacts with any football clubs (amateur or professional) could you PLEASE contact them on behalf of this project and direct them to this page or the Facebook page?
Many thanks Christine Laurence-Jackson
