The Football Beyond Borders Society in Southampton is a newly established University Society that is a splinter of our parent charity Football Beyond Borders, based in London.

Our principle aim is to maximise the potential of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and use football as an empowering tool to promote equality and inclusion.

Football Beyond Borders Southampton has been working in collaboration with YMCA Newtown Community and Youth Centre in Southampton. We believe that the work they do to support the children and community of the surrounding area is vital for the promotion of cultural diversity which has been a significant issue in Southampton in recent years.

However, the youth centre needs all the help it can get to sustain the great work they do, as well as the great work and opportunities that the society can do. As a result, members of the Football Beyond Borders Society will be running the ABP Southampton Half-Marathon in April 2017 to raise funds for our society so that we can improve our equipment and material to allow us to help places such as YMCA Newtown Community and Youth Centre even more than we currently do, giving the children the best opportunities to springboard themselves into success.
