Story

We are raising funds to deliver our 6 month FoodWise training course to 10 women. The course will support participants to develop skills for employability in the catering and hospitality industry, as well as bringing the group together to heal, Feast and be in community.

The programme will be delivered by our in-house training team in a variety of practical and classroom settings around Bristol. We are working closely with the charity Unseen, to deliver this course to survivors of modern slavery.

Many refugee women have survived situations of modern slavery, such as trafficking and domestic servitude. At Houria we understand that modern slavery is racialised and gendered. We actively centralise and elevate these women, our Sisters, in a safe and encouraging environment.

£30 will pay for one set of kitchen equipment for a Sister to use during the course and beyond.

£50 will pay for course handbooks, materials and stationary for one Sister.

£100 will help fund one Sister's transport to all the classes.

Our social enterprise is grassroots, young and ambitious. We are proud to say that we have kept our heads above water during the pandemic by diversifying our offer and adjusting to the regulations set out by the government.

Will you make a donation to help us provide life-changing opportunities for migrants and survivors? We are grateful for all donations.

Come on, join our joyful, soulful, delicious movement!
