Story

Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church Food Stop is a 'social supermarket' . It offers around £20 worth of fresh, chilled, frozen and tinned food every week to those who are finding things hard at the moment for a weekly membership fee of £3.50.

Last year we provided 50 'all you need for Christmas dinner' hampers. This year, we need to double that amount plus make sure that anyone who doesn't get a hamper goes home with additional food over Christmas.

Things are getting harder for people who are already finding things hard, we want to make sure that 100 families don't have to worry about providing a traditional christmas dinner for their family.

It's 15 days until we send our team of volunteer elves to deliver the 'everything you need for Christmas dinner' hampers. Our head elf Julia is busily ringing around the families who have been selected to recieve hampers this year. She has descibed this task as the 'best job she has done all year'! Thank you all for making it happen.

A heartfelt thankyou to everyone who has donated so far! This week the food shop had 70 families visit us (which is a record number for us). We reckon that on average people visit 1 in 3 weeks which means that the number of people using us on a regular visit is huge! Any money that you donate to us will be used to support these wonderful families.
