Mama Muxima is an orphanage for girls and boys from the ages of 5 to 20 living in Luanda, Angola, under the supervision of Catholic sisters. My mother is one of the expat women living in Angola regularly visiting the orphanage to give English lessons and play with the children. In addition to this she, along with other expat women, also brings food supplies to the children, who live on a basic diet of rice and beans. Fruit and dairy products are rarities, only offered to the children when the expat women visit.

In the current economical climate of Luanda vital requirements have become very expensive, in particular food. It costs around £100 a week to supply the orphanage with sufficient basic food supplies (rice, beans, oil). The expats have been donating these supplies on a weekly basis, however due to regular transfers, it is unclear how much longer the support of the expats will last in Angola and at Mama Muxima. Therefore, I am trying to raise as much money as possible to provide food supplies for the children at Mama Muxima for as long as possible.

The price of a beautiful meal out in a restaurant in London could provide food for the children at the orphanage for at least one week and furthermore would be a huge help!
