I've raised £5000 to help fund play equipment and landscaping on Flyford Flavell Village Green

The project is designed to improve the village play offer for children and provide a welcoming and safe space for the whole community to meet and engage in outdoor activities.
In the village design statement for Flyford Flavell, Grafton Flyford and North Piddle, formally adopted by the Parish Council in 2012, the need for recreational space including a children's play area was identified. Additional houses in the village in recent years as well as the loss of the old village hall on Church Lane has also contributed to a greater need for the provision of accessible space with recreational facilities to improve community engagement and wellbeing. The Village Green was formally adopted by the Parish Council in 2018.
A Parish Council led consultation in June 2019 resulted in a clear indication of support for this project and its goals with 70% of respondents supporting play equipment as well as majority support for improved landscaping.
Funding for the project is intended to be supported by grants, community fundraising and the parish council.
Landscaping is to include a feature tree, 3 further trees, planting, wild flowers and also a raised bed as a community garden. The provision of water and electricity is also being considered.
