Story
Thank you for visiting our team fundraising page for UoN Sri Lanka Society
Our country we call home has experienced one of the worst floods in recent times. As of this morning (29/05/2017), the death toll due to floods and landslides has reached a painful 164 people. Some half a million are affected. Thunderstorms are forecasted to continue over the next few coming days so the casualties may rise.

Currently living in the UK we feel helpless that we cannot be there to volunteer to help the people affected by the floods
However our friends and family back home are working tirelessly around the clock to provide emergency relief to the families affected by the floods and I want to do my best to help them out
Funds will be used to help the numerous volunteers on the ground, they will go towards the purchase of
Bottled Water
Baby milk formula
Paracetamol
Imodium
Cough Syrup
Glucose
Milk powder
Rice
Instant Noodles
Dhal
Sugar
Mosquito coil and net
Soap
Sanitary napkins
Blankets
Tooth brush and paste
£1 when converted to Sri Lankan rupees is almost 200 Rupees, you can buy 10 Litres of water at wholesale prices, so don’t hesitate to even donate a £1
Furthermore if you pledge £20 or more, if you do visit Sri Lanka a member of the Sri Lanka society (on availability) will happily show you around Colombo free of charge
Thanks in advance for helping the people of Sri Lanka

8 years agoDear all, Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts for your amazing generosity. The committee has decided the money will be donated to a local charity which are doing hands-on work with the flood victims. All proceeds will be donated to My Clean Sri Lanka. They are currently in the process of giving essential school supplies to children of remote areas who lost everything during the floods. You will be able to see your donation being put to good use by following their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MyCleanSriLanka/
