Story
Family courts are meant to protect and support families but for many neurodivergent individuals, the system can feel confusing, overwhelming, and at times deeply unfair.
FLANC are raising funds to produce mandatory training across the entire family justice sector including judges, solicitors, social workers, and court professionals. This training will help ensure that people who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, or otherwise neurodivergent are properly understood, supported, and treated with fairness and dignity.
Right now, too many neurodivergent parents and children face barriers such as:
• Misinterpretation of communication styles
• Sensory overload in court environments
• Assumptions that impact decisions about parenting and capacity
• A lack of appropriate adjustments
These aren’t small issues; they can directly affect life-changing outcomes for families.
With the right training, professionals can:
• Recognise and understand neurodivergence
• Communicate more effectively and compassionately
• Make informed, fair decisions
• Create a more accessible and just system for everyone
This campaign is about systemic change. It’s about making sure no one is disadvantaged simply because their brain works differently.
Every donation helps us advocate, educate, and push for mandatory training that is urgently needed.
If you believe in fairness, inclusion, and a justice system that works for all families, please support this cause.
Thank you.
