Story

Flamborough Flower Pot Festival was introduced in June 2022 as a 'fun' way to help bring the community together after Lockdown. Villagers and businesses were encouraged to make creative and often amusing models out of plant pots and display their creations in their gardens, windows or business premises for everyone to enjoy and to help brighten up their day. The festival also attracted many visitors to the village.

Flower Pot Festival is a free to enter, inclusive and non-competitive event designed to bring a smile on people’s faces with all profits raised donated to local charities.

Following the success of our first Flower Pot Festival and many requests for it to be repeated, a small group of volunteers got together to help set up the festival on a more sustainable basis.

We are fund raising to establish the basic foundations for the festival so that it can become an annual ‘fun’ event in the village calendar. We need to raise money for such things as, insurance, stationery, printing costs, social media management, webpage hosting, craft materials, room hire and simple tools for (free) model making classes for the elderly and the young.

This year a trail map will be available to purchase in local shops for £2.00 with profits donated to Flamborough Pre-School. The flowerpot trail is suitable for people of all ages and abilities and there are plenty of places to rest and have refreshments or a picnic. The festival is free for all to enjoy and with the foundations we are trying to establish will hopefully continue to run as a fun annual event.

Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your interest.
