Story
Hello, I am Finley Barker and I am Jensen Maughan, we are two 9 year old boys who have decided to take on a challenge to raise money for the families of Ukraine. Innocent men, women and children who have through no fault of their own been torn apart by the tragedy that has been opposed on them by a war on their country.
Innocent people are being killed, and the lucky ones have lost everything, their livelihood, their homes, their loved ones. Can you imagine a child leaving everything they have known behind, just to ensure their safety? Quite frankly we think what is happening is disgusting and we want to do something to try to help.
So, together one day at school, whilst we were in class we hatched a plan to raise money to either send across to the families of Ukraine, or to buy essential items that families need in order to survive.
On the 2nd April on Worthing seafront, we will run 5km together as best friends and would love you to sponsor us, no matter how big or small, every little will help.
We can’t stop the war or influence those to stop bombing the innocent people of Ukraine, however we can do something to help the tragic victims of this war.

3 years agoHi all, just a quick update to let everyone know that we have donated £1264 to the ‘Children on the Edge’ charity who are working with children and families impacted by the continued tragic events in Ukraine. Jensen and Finley were invited over to their HQ in Chichester last week to meet them and talk about how the money they had raised was being used to support Ukrainian child refugees in neighbouring Romania. The boys were chuffed to pick up a thank you card and certificate. Thank you to everyone that supported them with their 5K run.

3 years agoFor anyone wanting to come and support us, we will be starting our 5km run at 11:00am this Saturday 2nd April, on Worthing seafront opposite the CrabShack restaurant, near Splash Point swimming pool. The 5km will take us all the way along the seafront to the Shark Park at the bottom of Wallace Avenue, where we will turn around and head back to the CrabShack. It looks like the sun will be out and we both would love to see any supporters along the way. 🏃 👏 🏃 👏 🏃
