Story
Film Junior is the world's only regular print magazine about the movies, aimed at people under 15. It's also partly written by them, and they get paid for their work.
It's never made money, but I've found ways to fund it, because I think it's important. The magazines talk about new films, lets youngsters interview filmmakers, gives readers ideas for movies old and new to watch, and offers a few tips on filmmaking.
After five years, it's getting very hard to keep the magazine going. I want to produce it six times a year, but print and mailing costs are going up. I take no money for making the magazine.
Can you help? I don't profit from them, and if I did, I wouldn't have to fundraise like this. But every penny I raise here goes towards a print bill, or paying another writer, or offering a fresh opportunity to someone.
I'm told by lots of people in the film industry that what Film Junior does is important. I wish that equated to selling lots of adverts!
I'm hoping there are people out there who believe as much as I do that a film magazine for children is important.
Every pound helps. If you're very, very rich and believe in all of this, feel free to get in touch too (I also do Film Stories magazine, that I'm also raising funds for!)
Thank you for reading.

2 months agoApologies for the sparse updates - been too busy making the magazines! Thank you so much for the support you've given. I'm still fundraising, and delighted that in the next issue, more young reporters have spoken directly to filmmakers. I want to do lots, lots, lots more of this stuff, but print magazines remain incredibly challenging!

Hope you can keep doing what you're doing - I don't even have kids but it's so important for kids to have a voice. Thank you.
