I've raised £6000 to help with much needed funds for our mate - Ian “Nugger” Nuttall ❤️

This70s page has been created to help a very dear friend to so many in the cricketing fraternity. Ian has very recently received a terminal diagnosis which has certainly brought an emotional strain on both him and his family. However, with our beloved “cricket family” being what it is, we want to make sure Ian is looked after in his hour of need and help ease some of the financial burden a diagnoses such as this can bring ❤️
Ian (Nugger) Nuttall has just about graced every single cricket pitch in the Bolton, and surrounding, areas. A true gent and humble man who possessed great skill and prowess as a very talented left arm spin bowler on the pitch. Starting way back in the early 80’s at Kearsley CC and then moving across town in 1985, Ian started his journey at Farnworth Social Circle which would soon become a home from home. He became captain in 1988 and boasts the unbelievable achievement to hold the League Championship, Hamer Cup and Lancashire Knockout Trophy (see above picture) - a truly record breaking year for everyone involved. His cricket career then took him to Darcy Lever in 1992 as their named Professional; he returned to FSCCC for a time, before moving onto Bradshaw and finally back to his beloved Darcy! Whilst there, he had taken up duties in the 3rd XI and, more recently, as groundsman. He would say the pitch had never looked so good.
He has been an incredible friend and confidante to so many over the years and this is down to his love of Cricket, BWFC, Northern Soul and a pint or two of John Smiths at “the club”, mainly the De Havilland. To say he’s a popular chap would be understatement of the century! This is the least the cricket community can do to give something back to a man who has given many friends and family such fun, enjoyment and laughs over the years.
We love you Nugger ❤️
