Story
Fairfield Community Hub is Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organization founded in 2008. The ethos behind The Hub is to be a catalyst in bringing back a sense of pride, enthusiasm and connectedness to the community through sports, creative classes and other recreational activities. We believe these classes and leisure activites bring the local community together and our aim is to create a safe space for all. We believe these opportunities should be available to everyone, regardless of their background.
Fairfield Community Hub also has its own food larder that's ran by Volunteers. Our vision is to ensure all people in our community can have a healthy nutritious meal. Our Larder relies on Donations and all money received goes into buying food and toiletries. The difference between ourselves and a Foodbank is the people who attend can pick what they need, depending on their own circumstances to help them feed their households. Giving them a shopping experience without the worry of how much it will cost. The Food Larder was set up in 2019 to support the local community, people who were struggling to make ends meet due to unemployment or lack of resources. We have now helped over 700 families and continue to do so every single week. We now have a team of 20 volunteers helping to make this possible.
