Story
Hello my name is Carolina Montiel from London. The ongoing conflict in Gaza is breaking my heart, moreover when I have friends there that need support.
I am in contact with Eyas Abuowda and his wife Yasmen Shabat who are currently displaced in Deir Al-Balah (Gaza). Eyas and Yasmeen have five children, twins Sara and Nehad (8 months old) Sham (20 months old), Ablerhaman (4 years old) and Hala (6 years old).
The family had to flee their home in north Gaza (Beit Hanoun). And since November 2023 they are displaced and sheltering in an UNRWA School in Deir Al-Balah (Central Gaza).
At the beginning of the war Eyas started to raise funds for the evacuation of his family, but he saw the needs of the people around him and decided to use the money to help others.
Eyas and I have teamed up to distribute food and water in the south, and we managed to reach the north with flour and clothing.
The main focus of our fundraiser at this moment is to help Eyas family and provide the smaller children with milk and nappies as well as buying other essentials for the family, water, food, blankets and winter clothes.
The ultimate beneficiary of this fundraiser is Eyas Nehad Abuowuda. The funds raised here are transferred to my bank account in UK, then I, Carolina Monitel Alocen, transfer the funds via bank transfer to a Turkish bank account owned by a relative or Eyas Nehad Abuowda with residence Turkey, Abdallah I M Abuowda. Abdallah I M Abuowda is subsequently responsible to transfering the money to Eyas Nehad Abuowuda in Gaza.
Thanks for your support.
Message from my friend Eyas:
"Hello, I'm Eyas I have five young children. I lived in the Gaza Strip, specifically the city of Beit Hanoun. Since the first day of the outbreak of the war, my city was subjected to severe bombing, as I and my family were forced to leave my home and search for a safer place. But we are bombarded everywhere. My house was bombed and there was no place I could return to. I am trying to live in this difficult circumstance, where we left our homes without obtaining the necessities of life. We left everything: clothes, bedding, and cooking utensils. I got a video of my house through the social networking site that someone sent to me. In it, I saw my house destroyed with all the possessions. I don’t know now how to start. The war continues until now. I have spent everything I have. It has become very difficult to continue."
