I've raised £3768.05 to get EVE a float for the London Pride Parade 2019! (final goal)

With EVE we pride ourselves or standing up for what we feel is right. We make noise, we take up space and we push for change. This often leads us into unchartered waters for pro-wrestling - like setting up a ring on Southbank, next to the river Thames, and performing for the Women of the World festival! - and we’re going that way again!
We want to see more representation of the LGBTQ+ community in wrestling, and for the community to know that there are safe spaces to enjoy the unique and awesome art form that is pro-wrestling. We decided the best place to start was the biggest platform we could find - The London Pride Parade 2019. It’s a double win as we know a lot of people feel Pride has become more corporate over the years and we’d love to bring our DIY, grassroots, riot grrrl fighting spirit to the 2019 parade.
The FANTASTIC news is that WE GOT A PLACE!!! A float and 35 wristbands for walkers have been assigned to EVE and we couldn’t be more excited. The not so fantastic news is that it comes with a £1125 entry fee, payable in just 8 days.
“I can’t think of a better representative for the LGBT+ community in wrestling than EVE and I couldn’t be more excited and proud to see them being a part of this year’s London Pride parade. Everything that EVE stands for is what Pride is all about so it’s a perfect fit” - Laura Di Matteo, EVE wrestler and part of the LGBT community
As we said above - we are a grassroots company. Any profit we make goes straight back into the company so we can continue to push for bigger and better things for our amazing performers. We make as much of the art as we can ourselves (you may have noticed this from our set!) and we rely massively on the love and support from the community we have built around us.
“What if by coming out at EVE, by not hiding who I am, I inspire a 13 year old girl who’s in the closet? I love EVE’s whole ethos on what they stand for, it’s completely different to any other promotion and gives a platform to people like me to shout from the rooftops about what I believe in” - “Fearless” Charlie Morgan, EVE wrestler and part of the LGBT community
We’ve never reached out with anything like this before, as we’ve always felt a little uncomfortable about it, but this is unlike anything we’ve done before. We have 8 days to raise the entry fee and we’re not able to do this on our own. This is something we would love to do and that means so much to us, more than we could possibly put into words, and we’re hoping that you feel the same. If you feel the same way as us about this, and are able to, then please donate to help us cover our entry into the London Pride Parade - and share this fundraiser to help spread the word. Please use the hashtag #PrideOfEVE so we can see your posts and feedback!
“EVE is the unapologetic, all-inclusive protest in professional wrestling. I feel they fly in the face of what wrestling “should be” and take every woman as they are, from Japan to Bethnal Green, from princesses to The Psycho Dyke” - “The Psycho Dyke” Rebel Kinney, former EVE crew member turned EVE wrestler and part of the LGBT community
Our first goal is the entry fee - anything after that will be on the float itself, including hire, drivers, decoration... and, of course, filling it full of our amazing community on the day itself.
Thank you so much!
