I've raised £19250 to bring 50 more urban trees to Reading

Through our Trees for Reading initiative, we’re working to bring more urban trees to our town.
We're mainly aiming to encourage local organisations to sponsor the planting and care of trees, as a way to make a positive difference. However, in response to feedback, we've now set up this community tree planting fund, so individuals who want to contribute can also get involved.
We welcome donations of any amount. Once we’ve collected enough for a tree, we’ll plant one and mark it as being sponsored by the community of Reading.
Just so you know, the total we need to plant one tree is £385. That covers:
• £200 for a substantial young tree (3-3.5 metres tall and 12-14cm around the trunk)
• £150 to cover care and maintenance for the first two years (eg watering in summer)
• + 10% management fee to cover professional accounting, project management and marketing support
We’ve developed the Trees for Reading initiative working closely with Reading Tree Wardens and Reading Borough Council, who will continue to work with us to ensure its success.
Let’s make Reading greener together!
