My name is Ethan, I'm 22 currently studying Environmental Science in my 2nd year at Keele university and I am trying to raise medical funds for keloid scar removal on my arm. I'm a keen cyclist and in 2014 I was knocked off my road bike by a car and broke my arm in several places. The NHS did a fine job at repairing my arm but it left an ugly scar behind that causes me distress and embarrassment. It makes me self conscious to the point I stopped swimming (I used to go 4 times a week), I won't leave the house without wearing long sleeve tops. My doctor has told me several times the NHS won't perform scar revision surgery because it's considered cosmetic surgery.

I'm raising medical funds to help pay for private scar revision surgery abroad. I'm already saving hard myself, but as ever with life finding it difficult to save for this while supporting myself at uni. Any donations are very much welcome.
