Story

My friends and I are going to walk around the entirety of Singapore, non-stop, on the 5th of October 2020. The route is over 100km long and will take us in excess of 24 hours to walk. I am undertaking this journey in order to raise money to help finance relief and assistance to those who have been affected by the recent humanitarian disaster in Lebanon.

I am a member of the Mersey Commandery of the Order of Saint Lazarus, an organisation dedicated to the care and assistance of the sick and poor, and the money raised shall be included as part of an appeal from the St Lazarus Charitable Trust and donated to Aid to the Church in Need, a charity whose operatives are already on the ground in Beirut.

Within hours of the massive explosion in the centre of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the Catholic charity, Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), approved an emergency food package to reach 5,000 families. Amid reports of more than 130 people killed, 5,000 injured and thousands upon thousands rendered homeless and helpless, the charity is urgently providing for their most basic needs." - John Pontifex (ACN)

Thank you all and wish us luck!
