Story
Eskdale School is a secondary school in North Yorkshire that serves the community of Whitby and surrounding community. The school has strong curricular and extra curricular sport delivery, in particular football, within the community. The school and community has strong links with a significant number of surrounding affiliated grassroots community clubs, who are also in need of the facility of a 3G Artificial Grass Pitch.
Having being recognised as a preferred location through the Playing Pitch Strategy, Eskdale School are currently working closely with the Football Foundation, Scarborough Borough Council and The North Riding Football Association to develop our sporting facilities with the installation of a 3G Artificial Grass Pitch for use by the school and local community.
The installation of a 3G pitch is approximately £650 – £700K. We have been set a challenging target by the Football Foundation to raise 50% of the money. This is obviously not an easy task and one that we cannot do alone so this is where we need help from pupils, staff, members of the community and local businesses.
The proposed facility is an exciting opportunity to improve positive outcomes for all within our local community especially the young people of the town. The health and well being of the future society is at the forefront of this venture. We hope to inspire new generations to participate in sport, develop further community sporting opportunities and encourage and maintain a healthy lifestyle for all.
