Story
In 1998, Kosovo went through a war with Serbia whereby thousands of Kosovans were innocently killed. The aftermath of the war still affects many Kosovans today, with poverty being a significant factor. This matter is one that I hold very close to my heart as my parent's themselves experienced the war and fled to the UK as a means of creating a safe place for my family.
Despite Kosovo gaining its independence in 2008, the aftermath of the war is still very much prominent and when I visit, it is heart-breaking to see the damages of the war still affect Kosovans today, specifically in terms of poverty.
The families that I want to help are those who are struggling to put food on the table to feed their children, and those whose families have been torn apart as a result of the traumatic scenes that the massacre caused. It is our responsibility as Muslims to care and be there for those who aren’t as fortunate as us. As a result, I urge you to donate to the cause and I pray Allah swt rewards you for your efforts.
I plan to visit Kosovo this summer and I look to fundraise some money to provide essentials for 5 families.
£500 = 584.62 euros
£1000 = 1,169.12 euros
With £500, 5 families = 116.93 euros each
With £1000, 5 families = 233.83 euros each
*as a result of frequent currency changes, the remaining money that isn’t split equally between 5 families, will be donated to a mosque *
I hope you can find a way to help me achieve this. Thank you for taking the time reading this and every donation, no matter how little will make a difference so please don’t hesitate.
