Story

Pulmonary fibrosis causes thousands of deaths in the UK each year, and it’s on the rise. Give hope of a better future by donating towards life-changing research today.

EPIC Puffers are a group from the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Service in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the University of Exeter. We are all taking on a challenge in the Great West Run whether it is the The Half Marathon or the Community Mile on Sunday 21 May 2023.

Our group comprises : Anna Duckworth, Jess Mandizha, Gill Ray and Chris Scotton.

We will be joined on the day by our wonderful patients who will come along to support us and who inspire us with their bravery. Some are even going to challenge their scarred lungs to attempt the Community Mile.

Our Patients and family members and friends taking part will be:

George and Angie Vosper, Keith Stanley, Chris Friend, Bruce and Jo Robinson, David and Sanchia Waller all doing the Community Mile.

Emma Harris doing the Half Marathon

Diana Baynes doing the 10K.

And our special guest coming along for the Mile will be BBC Radio Devon's David Fitzgerald.

And the group grows Dani Vosper, Andy and Debs Vosper with Vince and Jo Vosper will all be doing the Community Mile.
