England are sending a rifle Team of 18 to compete in The 2024 Spirit of America series of matches finishing with the prestigious America Match, one of a small group of top level international competitions often competed for between the USA, England, Canada and other countries. This high level competition is being held at Raton, New Mexico in September 2024.

The Team features a number of experienced internationals, but many will be making their international debut. The objective of this Tour is to win The America Match and also to promote the development of new talent in a sport in which Great Britain has been World Champions several times (a.k.a. The Palma Match ).

Fullbore Target Shooting is not an Olympic discipline and as such, these teams receive minimal funding. The gross cost of this Tour will be approximately £80,000, most of which will be borne by Team members. The cost of tours often proves to be a barrier to those who are talented, but not financially able to participate. We are therefore seeking external funding for the tour, alongside our own initiatives, and offer you the opportunity to support us.

Our sport is very different from most with all sexes and age groups competing alongside each other in the same competitions. It is a sport requiring a great deal of analysis and decision making (taking into account the effect of wind on projectiles) as well as calmness and confidence to hit the bullseye consistently at several distances up to over half a mile away (without a telescopic sight!).

This tour will allow a group of people from very different backgrounds to unite behind a common objective, learn what it really means to be part of a team and become friends for life.

All donations will go directly to subsidise Team Tour costs. You'll receive nothing other than HUGE thanks and gratitude from the team. The target of this fundraiser is friends, family and colleagues of those going on the tour plus to any other contacts which you may wish to make aware of our appeal.
