Story
I am working towards raising money for a volunteer project aimed at improving education and quality of life for children living in poverty in rural Fiji. 75% of children living in rural Fiji live below the poverty line and only 50% of children have access to adequate sanitation and fresh water. This project is with the registered charity Think Pacific (1162190) who work in the remote villages of Fiji. I am aiming to raise £1100, which I will send directly to the charity; over one third of this money will go directly to helping children in Fiji by supplying resources, helping to re-build/equip schools and supporting long-term educational initiatives. This project will enable me to gain a deeper insight into the issues people face in the developing world and will allow me to make a real difference to the lives of the children I get the opportunity to work with. By promoting education and sports activities in these remote villages, we're inspiring these underprivileged children to reach their full potential and due to the money Think Pacific invests in the sustainability of its initiatives, we're providing them with the means to do so.
For more information please visit Think Pacific charity page.
I am also selling handmade bracelets to help raise this money so please visit Handmade beaded bracelets if you prefer to contribute to this cause in a different way.
Thank you, Emma xx

I am a medical student from Manchester currently studying at the University of Nottingham. I chose this volunteer project because I believe that all children should have access to the same resources and opportunities; this project will allow me to work towards achieving this.
