Story

Me & my husband, Lee, got married in 2016 & on our honeymoon found out I was pregnant. We already had 3 boys between us. We found out the week after Christmas we were having a DAUGHTER, Lee cried when we found out, our family was complete. Lee had a vasectomy done in January 2017 whilst I was 5 months pregnant.
I had complications & she was born at 34 weeks weighing 5lbs 1oz, Felicity. She was PERFECT. She spent 11 days in neo natal & then came home.
At 8w4d old over the Bank Holiday weekend she was unwell so I rang 111 who said take her to urgent care, we waited 1.5 hrs to be seen by a doctor. However this Dr did not care about our daughter, his words were 'you look like a sensible mother bring her back tomorrow if she is any worse' no physical checks were done, nothing!
She died within 12 hrs of this doctor sending us home.
We woke up & our world shattered, she wasn't breathing. The hospital did all they could but she was gone. My baby girl at 8w5d was taken from us!
I have never felt so lost & broken in my life & I don't think that will never change as a piece of us went with her.
The post mortem revealed that she had an infection in her lungs - HIB INFLUENZA. She most likely died of sepsis from pneumonia. She could have been saved if the doctor had just completed a simple physical check.
After a while, me & Lee spoke about having another child - not to replace Felicity but to try and mend our broken family.
We requested that the vasectomy reversed but that was refused, apparently we don't have enough circumstances to justify it.
The NHS are who took our daughter away by not doing simple checks that could have saved her & they are refusing to help us try and rebuild our family.
We have asked our local MP to help & also the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) but we are less than hopeful that our appeal will also be rejected. Please help us raise the money for a vasectomy reversal so we can make our beautiful angel a proud big sister
