Ever since the age of 3 when she fought a mighty battle with cancer, Holly has always shown what a brave, courageous and fiercely independent girl she is!

Last year, Holly found a new passion in life - sky diving! She took to it like a duck to water, rapidly flying through all the levels in order for her to be able to achieve optimum status of solo diving. Her new found hobby was regularly taking her over to Seville, Spain where this extreme sport became second nature to her.

However, devastatingly, a few days ago our lives changed in a heartbeat. We had the worst call any family could receive to say our beautiful, independent, adventurous Holly had been in a sky diving accident. Holly was caught by a sudden change of wind that caused her to collide with a car at approximately 60mph.

Holly has suffered multiple injuries causing a shattered pelvis and a huge laceration to her leg. Fractures to her coccyx, pubis and L5 vertebrae. She underwent emergency surgery to stop the bleeding and staple her leg. They also placed bolts into her knee and a metal rod to keep her pelvis pulled down. Days of her temperate being erratic, enlarging of liver and 4 blood transfusions later Holly underwent 5 hours of surgery to repair her pelvis.

The pain she has been in has been heartbreaking to witness. Holly had her 2nd surgery and had 3 pins to each side of the pelvis and plates to the front and back to secure.

Holly will now face 3-6 months of recovery before she can begin to learn to walk again . This will require extensive rehab.

The future is not known but we are so very lucky Holly is still here to tell her story.

As always insurance companies are hideous. We have had zero help or support through her insurance and as a family we are both shocked and saddened to learn the hard way that when things go wrong you cannot rely on them to be there. We are pushing hard to get her home and hoping the insurance will get reviewed asap. Holly has full cover for extreme sports.
