Most of us are aware of the plight of Palestinians who continue to face oppression on a daily basis. This oppression is enforced regardless of age, gender and even disability, and so, to do our part, a multitude of student societies from a number of universities across the UK (LSE, QMUL, UoB, Leicester, Kings, Aston, Warwick and Leeds, and more to come!) have come together to raise funds for the people of Gaza. Today, we are calling upon all UK university societies and their members to join us in this humanitarian mission to maximise support for suffering Palestinians.

We aim to join hands with several reliable charities working on the ground in Gaza including Medical Aid For Palestinians (MAP), Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) and Interpal, to support our fellow human beings during these hardships. Funds will be used for emergency assistance required on the ground in Gaza, to rebuild the infrastructure and support the families of the deceased.

We are in great need of your support as Gaza is currently in a dire state where urgent assistance is needed, and the oppression is far from over. 265 civilians have been killed and over 2000 wounded, with 1800+ homes destroyed. The ongoing land, air and sea blockade on Gaza imposed by Israel and Egypt, has made a dire and near impossible situation present for Palestinians to rebuild from the destruction caused to vital infrastructure.

With over 91,000 displaced Palestinians in Gaza, our voices and advocacy for the Palestinian people must be met with material action. We’re calling on all humanitarians to give whatever you can to help make a difference to Palestinians in Gaza. Your generosity will undoubtedly ease the suffering of the people of Gaza; aiding their long-awaited struggle for self determination.
