On March 26th I will be taking part in Sheffield's Half Marathon in an attempt to raise money for the Hedgehog habitat conservation work at the Wildlife Trusts Brockholes site.

Hedgehogs nationally are having a really tough time of it due habitat loss and they need all the help we can give them.

At Brockholes Reserve they currently make natural habitat heaps (mostly out of logs) to provide them with shelter, but with some money they can buy good quality timbers with which to also make them proper hedgehog houses, so they've more shelter and protection for breeding in. Also, they can set up feeding stations to support them, and once they've done this they can then receive hedgehogs from rescue centres and introduce them to the reserve, to increase genetic diversity and overall numbers.
