Story

I am raising money for a treatment that is sadly not available on the NHS.

I am often in intense pain throughout my body for which there is very limited treatment, mostly just medication (of which I already take a lot). Because of this, I often feel depressed and hopeless.

There is a new treatment available via infusion which has been known to alleviate pain in patients with fibromyalgia for up to 9 months!

In this country, it’s mainly used to target depression but I qualify medically for that as well. Unfortunately, my condition has had a huge impact on my mental health because I have had to let go of all the things I enjoy as I can no longer do them. Before I was unwell, I enjoyed running, cycling, swimming, cooking, baking and working but one by one, they have been taken from me by this disease.

I have tried everything else and nothing has worked, this is my last attempt to claw back some of my independence. The only problem is that it is only available privately (not on the NHS) and is quite expensive.

Since I am unable to work, I can’t afford the payments and although I don’t like to ask for help, I have run out of other options and am desperate for some pain relief.

I am trying to raise £915 to cover the initial treatments. They suggest 3 inpatient treatments at £215 each, a further review at £195 and finally a review at £75 (See Oxford Health for more information)

If there's anything you can give towards it, please know I would really appreciate it. This treatment could breathe some life back into me and perhaps I could finally start to enjoy living again.
