I am running The Hampton Court Half Marathon (that's 13.1 miles!!) on the 17th March 2019, along with some family and a friend. I thought this would be a brilliant opportunity to raise some much needed funds for Emma and this would also mean that I can't back out of it!!

Emma was given this devastating, terminal diagnosis at only 37 years of age. An age when she should be making plans for a long and happy future with her little family. Sadly Emma's future has taken a cruel twist and now she is having to make plans that she had never dreamt of.

Many changes need to be made to their home to help Emma cope with the symptoms of MND as the disease progresses. These adaptations all cost money and expenses are high. Funds and income are very tight for Emma as she is no longer able to continue with her job as a Deputy Head Teacher. Her husband is now her main care giver.

On a personal level, I know how distressing it is, to have a loved one diagnosed with a terminal disease of the brain. It is so hard on so many levels for all concerned. I would love to be able to raise some money for Emma and her family to try and ease some of the financial pressure that has been thrown upon them.
