I am going to run/jog/walk/crawl around the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 28 May 2017. Living in a small town in Essex, I wanted to raise funds locally. Unbeknown to me, Halstead has its own charity - TAPS.

Travel Aid for Parents of Sick Children was set up in 1984 to help a very sick child get to hospital for appointments and treatment and since then has been helping many families.

Those of us who have children know there is nothing worse than when they become ill. Getting to appointments and hospital for treatment can be very expensive and a worry that many parents do not need when their child is sick.
TAPS helps with this and takes some of the pressure of parents as, not all appointments or treatments are available in hospitals near to them. Many have to travel many miles to get the specialist treatment they need.
