5K Run 20th October 2019
The Ellen Pearl – Child line Jamaica is a charity which is close to my heart. Jamaica is the country of my heritage and the birthplace of my parents. My parents taught me an old saying that, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’.
Yahhh we have hit our target!!!Thank you for everyone who has supported and donated, God bless you all. I completed the run in 31 mins. It was lovely to have the support of Beverly (the founder of the charity) & her husband turning up cheering me on which gave me the extra energy and motivation which I needed to keep on going for my last 1K. Please encourage your family and friends to keep on giving, look what we have achieved in less than 2 weeks. I could not of done it without all of you amazing people.
Please read below.
Child line Jamaica gives an opportunity for vulnerable children and young people to call for support when in need and distress.
A total of 56,531 reports were made between; 2007-2014 to the office of Children’s registry. These statistics represent children who were alleged victims of physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect, as well as trafficking and child labour.
These are our children and we as a nation need to stand up and reach out to them. So I am asking from the bottom of my heart for your help, support and donations to be that village with me to raise our children to have a better future and out-come.
Much Appreciated
Elaine
