Dear friends,

Our friend Eddie Blowers was unfortunately caught up in the travel distuption and chaos caused by Covid-19. For those who don't know, he flew out to Turkey on the 10th of March, (before lockdown and travel advice was changed) and was due to be back in the UK on the 23rd March.

He has since been stuck in Antalya, Turkey with no means of getting home. All help from the British Consulate and travel companies has been very limited in the understandably, difficult time.

Finally a way home is on the cards with the potential flight home on the 5th of May being specially granted. Eddie has limited funds that he has had to use just to survive whilst in lockdown in Turkey. I'm looking to you all to consider making any value of donation to see bring him home. The £450 is the approximate cost of the travel home.

Hopefully Eddie can get home safely, and we look forward to seeing him umpire for NBCC 2nd XI when cricket resumes. If more is raised than the actual final cost, then what remains will be donated to NBCC. My thoughts being if we all rally round and make small donations, we can bring one of our club members home.
