Story

Please Help Me Raise Money Towards My Trip to Morroco to Help Locals With Their Dental Care!

As many of my family and friends know, I have been given the opportunity to attend a dental trip to Quezzane, Morocco to provide dental supplies, treatment and oral health advice with an organisation called Dentaid for 1 week, in 2020. I am a qualified dental nurse and want to have the opportunity to provide treatment to both adults and children within the rural parts of Morocco to try and help stable their oral health. For many families in Morocco, toothbrushes and toothpastes are seen as luxury items and some of the children have never owned either of these items before.

During my week in Morocco, me and the rest of the Dentaid team will be distributing dental essentials and will be teaching both children and adults the correct way to use them. This year when the team visited they successfully screened more than 2000 children and gave oral hygiene advice to over 800 adults all in 5 days! As my friends and family know, I am going out of my comfort zone completing this trip, but if I can help at least one child/adult at the end I would be over the moon! It’s an opportunity that may not arise again, and being able to use my knowledge and experience as a dental nurse to help others is so rewarding.

To be able to attend this trip, I have to raise £1,200 to cover the costs for me and the supplies we take along with us.

If anyone could kindly donate anything from as little as a 50p it would be appreciated.

When the trip takes place in 2020, I will be updating and posting photos to update those who have helped me for the duration of the week!

Thank You😊🌟
