Story
We are Stop Easton Park, formed in 2017 to resist the building of a 10,000 house New Town sited on Easton Park near Great Dunmow in Essex; historic land entrusted as a nature sanctuary in 1939 by the Countess of Warwick to the local authority. To-date our resistance has been successful but the threat to build remains high. Nonetheless we are now campaigning to restore the Park to meet the demand of a sustainable environment for everyone; today, tomorrow and for future generations.
Open space for peoples' wellbeing and flora & fauna benefits are vital in today's stress-filled society. We need funds to widen public awareness, garner support of more conservation organisations and hire environment, ecology and carbon capture experts to help us turn our Restoration Vision into reality. We will continue to challenge planners and the development promoters who remain determined to push ahead with plans to build a New Town and in so doing derive profits (which will be lost to the community) of hundreds of millions of pounds.
