I've raised £2000 to Support our Local Foodbanks in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft

It is clear that the COVID-19 pandemic is harbouring a negative impact on the lives of many people. With financial hardship and economic uncertainty becoming a significant issue, colleges up and down the country are looking for ways to support their staff, students and communities.
As a college, we have continually shown our support for our local foodbanks by donating food and essential household items that have been collected at our campuses’ donation drop-off points.
As we are unable to physically collect food items under the current circumstances, we are pledging to join the FE Foodbank Friday initiative to raise money for our local foodbanks instead, so that our foodbanks can continue to operate despite social distancing taking place across the country.
As a supporter of the initiative, we hope to become part of a national movement where colleges across the UK support their local communities through the coronavirus crisis and beyond.
We are therefore aiming to raise £2000 to support the foodbanks in our local community; the total funds raised will be evenly split between foodbanks in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
East Coast College is a major partner in our local community, and we want to do all that we can to support it.
We are asking anyone willing during this extremely tough period to consider donating what they can to ensure that we all can pull through this crisis together.
Thank you so much for your kind donation.
