At Duke of London we're excited to say we are partnering with Christmas Day Dinner Richmond. Their volunteers usually provide a Christmas Day event for young care leavers (teenagers and young adults who are leaving the care system) who without this special event would spend Christmas alone. The project is for young care leavers who live in the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Kingston and Richmond, and this year we are determined to make it even better for these incredible and resilient young individuals. 

With the challenges of 2020 due to CV-19, sadly a group event will not be permitted, so therefore Christmas Day Richmond are aiming to deliver the 'Spirit of Christmas' to each of the young care leavers at home on Christmas Day including a hot dinner with all the trimmings, purposeful Christmas presents and even a decoration or two.

At Duke of London we have decided to partner with Christmas Day Richmond to help extend their reach well beyond just the Richmond area, but across our local Borough of Hounslow too.

Our team at our Brentford showroom are hoping to fundraise, cook, package and deliver Christmas meals and gifts for local young care leavers on Christmas Day, and we would love your help!

All money raised will go towards the cost of food, presents such as warm winter coats, shoes, driving lessons and hopefully a 'star present each'. A lot of young care leavers struggle to find work without a driving license or a laptop/tablet for work - which are expensive and unaffordable - so we are aiming to gift each young care leaver a 'star present' or either driving lessons or a tablet to help them succeed in a career of their choice.

£10 provides Christmas decorations for an otherwise empty flat

£10 provides one hot Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings 

£50 buys a new pair of shoes

£80 provides a warm winter coat

£200 buys a new Windows tablet 

£280 buys 10 x manual/automatic driving lessons

Please only give what you can afford! And if you cannot afford to donate, please get in touch with us if you wish to donate your time to help wrap presents or cook and prep food. Every little helps and your kindness will change a lot of lives for the better this year! We can't wait to get involved with this fabulous project and we hope this is the first year of many to come.
