I've raised £2000 to continue Doug Reid's brilliant work supporting two of the causes he loved

Doug was many things to many people - dad, husband, brother, uncle, son, friend, neighbour, icon - and he was endlessly generous and caring, never expecting anything back.
Doug was the kind of person who took on a dad role for anyone who needed him, and always put others first, whether that was through offering shelter to people, providing a taxi service without complaint, or caring for loved ones.
One of the many many charities he supported was Gendered Intelligence, who offer support to young trans people and their families, providing youth groups, summer camps, and advice for families. Doug helped many parents and families, spreading messages of unconditional love and acceptance.
Another charity Doug supported was the North London Hospice, who looked after his wife Niru. He completed their big fun walk several times, proudly wearing their t-shirt as he walked from North London to Tower Bridge, smiling the whole way.
We are raising money to split equally between these two causes, in his spirit.
He would not want anybody to give beyond their means, and this is only one of many ways to remember him. He loved his family, his cat Bacon, London, long wandering walks, working out, Star Wars, Star Trek, and even Drag Race. So the next time you pet a cat or watch some sci-fi, think about him and all the joy he brought to this world!
He will be sorely missed, and happily remembered.
