I'm raising £1000 to Bring Back the Donkeys!

Story

In March, we had the two rescue donkeys Nora and Dora from Kentish Town City Farm visit Parliament Hill School (Camden) for some grazing.

Grazing animals are beneficial for:

- BIODIVERSITY: Animals are nature's lawn mowers, they suppress dominant grass species and trampled in a species-rich flowering lawn seed mix

- MENTAL-HEALTH: Students loved watching and stroking Nora and Dora; they learned about donkey therapy and the animals' role in nature. It was a powerful way to re-engage teenagers with the natural world. The gentle animals reach a very wide audience of students ... and teachers!

The donkeys had a great time too, bucking and jumping for joy when they arrived.

We would like to bring the back for:

- WINTER GRAZING: Dora, the older donkey, loses weight over winter and feeding on our juicy grass could help her keep and even gain weight

- SPRING/SUMMER GRAZING: we would like the new generation of students have a chance to experience the donkeys. Spring and Summer lend themselves better to outdoor learning

Why does it cost money?

Nora and Dora are accompanied by two members of the City Farm's staff who need to get paid.
