Dolphins Class would love your support for their Sponsored Santa Relay Race on Sunday 6 December!

Newick Primary School is at the heart of our village's community, and like so many other schools and organisations has suffered financially due to the additional, unexpected costs incurred as a result of Covid-19. These additional costs have all come from the school's existing budget and they will not receive any extra funding.

The school are extremely keen to continue to offer exciting resources and opportunities to the children, but are now in a position where they have no extra funding for new improvements to the school. One of these key improvements is the replacement of the large outdoor climbing frame, which is no longer fit for purpose. For the children's health and wellbeing it is critical that they are able to use outdoor play equipment as much as possible, particularly now that grassroots sports outside of school are affected by the Covid-19 restrictions.

In lieu of our annual Christmas Fair and to raise money for their much-loved school, the children of Dolphins Class (year 3) have organised an exciting Sponsored Santa Relay Race covering 6km+ around the village. On the morning of Sunday 6 December the children will don their Santa hats (or full Christmas fancy dress!) and, cheered on by their friends and neighbours, will run a section of the race, passing a tinsel-covered baton to their classmates as they go and finishing up in a blaze of glory at the school!
