Story

We are raising £191,000 to secure our second site - ‘A Sanctuary, Rehabilitation & Retreat’. We are almost there! Thank you for your incredible generosity.

UPDATE 27/2/21 : We have reduced the target again following almost £8000 in donations direct to the bank from our amazing followers.

Update : We updated the original fundraising target to reflect the offline donations to the bank account and thanks to 2 interest free loans we now have. We have until March to raise the rest of the money.

We found the perfect location with rolling hills, more than 40 acres of land including woodland, streams, shelters and full of nature and places to explore. Please DONATE and help us turn this idyllic spot it into the UK’s largest kennel-free Dog Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Retreat helping many thousands of dogs in the future. There are just so many who need this kind of facility, who would otherwise face euthanasia, and we turn away increasing numbers of cases each week.

We’ve already achieved what was said couldn’t be done; successfully developing and pioneering the UK's first kennel-free, group dog rescue. Our centre in Manchester now has supporters around the world who take much joy from watching our dogs live and play together as a pack, thanks to our social media presence. In the 7 years we have been going we have successfully rehomed over 1500 dogs, but we are now full. During lock-down we took in many desperate rehabilitation cases who had become stuck in the UK kennel system. With our pack of permanent dogs, we are uniquely placed to rehabilitate damaged and frightened souls. We have become known for turning problem cases around, but the process takes time and the need is far greater than we could ever have imagined. Every day we turn down dogs from other rescues who have run out of options, or well-meaning people who have adopted and found themselves with no back up when things do not work out. The lock-down puppy boom is expected to bring a surge of difficult cases (estimated 40,000) into the rescue system and will be unable to help as the long stayers are currently blocking those places.

The Dream

Our plan is to open a dedicated Sanctuary and Rehabilitation Retreat, rescuing UK dogs (facing euthanasia) and dogs in most desperate need from around the world. This would become a pioneering world-class rehabilitation centre of excellence where the pack helps to heal each other. And for those who we can't turn around, it would be an amazing forever home with all their friends, living a full, happy and safe life helping us to rehabilitate the others.

Our mission has always been to help as many dogs as we can, saving our spaces for the ones no-one else can. With a specific rehabilitation site we could save more and turn their lives around. We could choose the problem dogs who, through no fault of their own, have become stuck in the kennel system. The feral dogs who were never ready to adjust to life in a regular home but ended up in the UK in unsuitable places. We could choose to rescue more of the older ones who are harder to rehome, the disabled ones that no-one has the facilities to care for, or the frightened ones who may take weeks of work but have all the potential to blossom into a happy much loved pet.

What is life without a challenge, We are asking dog lovers around the world to DONATE what they can to help the dogs no-one else can. We will create the most perfect oasis for them where they can be at one with nature and at peace with the world as they learn to trust humans again. We just need your help to get there.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
